Job summary

The Advanced Paraeducator for Behavior and Instruction in Saint Cloud School District 742 supports students with significant behavioral needs in mainstream settings. The role emphasizes de-escalation, behavioral coaching, and instructional assistance to help students thrive within general or resource education environments.

Required HQ status with 60 credits or Paraeducator Exam, High School Diploma or GED. Preferred bilingual in Spanish or Somali. Work hours vary by assignment and needs.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• HQ status demonstrated by 60 college credits (AA/AS with 2.0+ GPA) or passing Paraeducator Exam.

Responsibilities

• Assist with IEP and Behavior Support Plan implementations.
• Assist with student behavioral management and non-violent crisis intervention.
• Supervise/assist students during instructional and non-instructional times.
• Observe, monitor, and communicate student progress to teachers.
• Collect student data under guidance of special education staff.
• Ensure confidentiality and privacy of student data.
• Assist with feeding, lifting/positioning, bathroom needs, personal hygiene, and swimming as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Support behavior programming and implement accommodations as directed by staff.
