Here, you will make an impact by: * Providing direct and/or indirect package engineering services to assigned operating units through package design, development and scale-up based on customer requirements and expectations.* Organizing the implementation of existing and new package designs including testing, evaluation, presentation, and recommendation of results.* Investigating opportunities to decrease packaging material cost and increase process efficiencies.* Evaluating various packaging options to improve sustainability and circularity of packaging components.* Contributing to the growth and continued success of multiple different product lines and business groups within 3M.**Your Skills and Expertise**To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:* Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering (completed and verified prior to start)* Two (2) years of package engineering/design experience in a private, public, government or military environment. Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include: * Three (3) years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment* Proven experience in packaging design and development, preferably in a manufacturing or consumer goods industry.* Strong knowledge of packaging materials, technologies, and industry standards.* Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and other relevant tools.* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.* Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and effectively communicate ideas and recommendations.* Knowledge of regulatory requirements and certifications related to packaging (e.g., FDA, ISO, ISTA) is a plus.* Familiarity with sustainability practices and considerations in packaging design is desirable.* Strong project management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.* Continuous learning mindset to stay updated on industry advancements and best practices.**Work location: This position is onsite at least 4 days a week in Maplewood, MN at the 3M Center****Travel: May include up to 20% travel (domestic/international)****Relocation Assistance: May be authorized****Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).****Supporting Your Well-being**3M offers many programs to help you live your best life – both physically and financially.
