Job summary

Safari Circuits, LLC is seeking an Advanced Operations Engineer in Otsego, Michigan to lead NPI and process development from concept to full-scale production. You will coordinate with customers, program management, and manufacturing to ensure quality, cost, and delivery targets are met.

The role requires a strong engineering background, hands-on SMT/assembly experience, and a proven track record in regulated electronics environments such as medical, aerospace, or defense.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in electronics manufacturing.
• Experience supporting NPI in contract manufacturing.
• Familiarity with IPC standards (IPC-A-610, J-STD-001).
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.
• Experience with ERP/MRP and MES systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead NPI and process development from concept to production.
• Develop manufacturing process flows and work instructions.
• Support first builds, pilot runs, and ramp-up.
• Optimize SMT, through-hole, box build, and test processes.
• Drive yield, scrap reduction, and process capability.

Job Summary

The Advanced Operations Engineer leads new product introduction (NPI) and process development efforts to ensure products are successfully transitioned from concept to full-scale production. This role serves as the technical interface between customers, program management, and manufacturing to ensure quality, cost, and deliveryobjectivesare achieved.

Responsibilities:

SMT Process & Equipment Operation

• Lead technical activities for new product introductions fromquotethrough production release
• Conduct Design for Manufacturability (DFM)
• Develop manufacturing process flows, work instructions, and tooling requirements
• Support first builds, pilot runs, and production ramp-up
• OptimizeSMT, through-hole, box build, and test processes
• Drive yield improvement, scrap reduction, and process capability
• Support root cause investigations and corrective actions
• Partner cross-functionally with Quality, Supply Chain, Program Management, and Production
• Interface with customers on technical and manufacturing topics

Preferred Qualifications and Character Traits:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering(Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or related field)
• 5+ years of experience in electronics manufacturing
• Experience supporting NPI in a contract manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of IPC standards (IPC-A-610, J-STD-001)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience in regulated industries (Medical, Aerospace, Defense)
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 and/or ISO 13485
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies
• Knowledge of ERP/MRP and MES systems
