Job summary

Baptist Health in Prattville is seeking an Advanced Nursing Extern to assist with patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The extern will perform duties within the scope of unlicensed providers and support nursing with data collection and lab specimen collection.

Ideal candidates are high school graduates enrolled in an accredited nursing program, having completed fundamentals of nursing care, pharmacology, and medication administration, and hold BLS certification.

The Extern's duties and responsibilities are limited to those that fall under the scope of practice of unlicensed health care providers acting under the direction of a licensed nurse as per the Alabama Board of Nursing. This individual shall support the department of Nursing, which include, but are not limited to, selected technical skills, data collection, and lab specimen collection. This position may have additional duties assigned that are within scope of the role.**Education/Experience:**High School diploma or equivalent required. Currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program.
