Job summary

Qualifications

Graduate of Nurse Practitioner program approved by the State of Texas.
Master's of Nursing preferred.
Acute Care NP program approved if trauma focus.
Current State of Texas nursing license.
Certifications in area of specialty or ANP/AACN/ACNP as applicable.
BLS certification required and ACLS/PALS/NRP as needed.

Responsibilities

Provides comprehensive patient care through assessment, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up.
Perform and interpret exams, orders and treatments within the nurse practice act.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and contribute to care plans.
Educate patients and families and participate in process improvement activities.
Ensure adherence to MHHS policies, safety standards and budgeting considerations.
Mentor and precept less experienced staff and support department goals.
