Job summary

Children's of Alabama seeks a Nursing Professional Development educator to facilitate the professional growth of nurses and staff. This role focuses on developing competencies through accredited programs and certifications within a pediatric care setting.

The position requires BSN with a subspecialty focus, MSN enrollment within 12 months, and 3 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in pediatrics. Alabama RN license and BLS/PALS/NRP instructor credentials are required.

Qualifications

• BSN required with subspecialty focus; enrollment in MSN within 12 months of acceptance.
• Minimum 3 years of clinical nursing experience; pediatric experience preferred.
• Current Alabama RN license; BLS, PALS, or NRP Instructor certification; national cert within 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate professional role development and growth of nurses and healthcare personnel at Children's of Alabama.
• Coordinate and deliver continuing education programs including BLS/PALS/NRP.
• Schedule and supervise Day shift educator responsibilities (8-hour shifts).

Work schedule will be Full-time on the Day Shift, Day shift educator.

Summary:

Responsible for facilitating the professional role development and growth of nurses and other healthcare personnel at Children's of Alabama.

National Certification must be obtained within 3 years. **Employees in this role prior to 1/1/2025 will be grandfathered in and now working towards obtaining the certification.

• Education
  • BSNrequired with a focus on subspecialtyarea appropriate for specificposition preferred. Candidates will be considered but must enroll (within 12 months of acceptingposition)and completeMSNdegree.
• Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience (with at least 2 years experience working withspecifiedpatient population or pediatric nursing preferred). Good oral and written communication skills.
• Licensures, Certifications, and/or Registries
  • Current RN license in the State of Alabama.
  • BLS, PALS, or NRP Instructor Certification
  • National Certification obtained within 2 years
