We are looking for a dynamic and highly skilled MSKphysiotherapist (Band 7) to join our friendly,
supportive and successful MSK team in County Durham andDarlington NHS Foundation Trust.
This post will cover Adult Physiotherapy Department at ShotleyBridge hospital.
As part of the established MSK team you will provide expertclinical intervention for these patients
while acting as a source of expertise within thePhysiotherapy team.
The iMSK service comprises of Upper & Lower limb,Spinal, A&E, Hand and Rheumatology ESPs, Junior,
Senior and Advanced Physiotherapists providing a robusttraining and supervision framework for all
staff.
The post holder has opportunities to develop clinical andleadership skills working alongside other
colleagues and ESP physiotherapists. CPDopportunities are offered which can be tailored to your needs.
You will work as part of a team providing a comprehensiveservice within our musculoskeletalpathways.
You will have the responsibility for the assessment andmanagement of musculoskeletal disorders. Thecaseload, which includes patients with long-term conditions,comorbidities and multi-factorial needsare referred from both primary and secondary care.
You will be expected to contribute to service evaluation,audit and provide day to day clinicalleadership to our senior and junior physiotherapists.
You will be expected to provide training, education,mentorship and appraisal for staff and students. Aspart of the role you will contribute to the development ofprofessional practice and the transformationand evaluation of service, supporting research andinnovation across the service.
You will work closely with and be supported by your peers,FCP and ESP Practitioners, the Governanceand Operational team.

We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.

This post has a nominal base within the Adult PhysiotherapyOutpatients Department at Shotley Bridge community hospital. The job description, also includes the abilityto work anywhere within the Trust.
You will report directly to the Operational Lead of MSKservices North Durham.
The post holder will have a high level of clinical knowledgeand skills to provide assessment andtreatment of patients who have a wide range ofmusculoskeletal conditions. You will deliver individualphysiotherapy treatment programmes based upon soundknowledge of evidence based practice andclinical reasoning.
The post holder would benefit in holding an injectiontherapy qualification. Injection therapy could also be a developmentopportunity if the post holder does not hold the qualification.
You will work as part of the MSK Integrated MusculoskeletalTeam and will have access to specialistadvice from ESP staff. The post holder will accept clinicalresponsibility of a designated caseload and organise effectively with regardsto clinical priorities and use of time.
You will clinically support junior staff and students,delegating activities appropriately and monitoringthe quality of care given via clinical supervision, mentorshipand audit.
The post holder will act as key communication link for aPCN.
You will be able, as part of CPD, to develop your clinicalskills by liaising with and obtaining advice fromspecialists within the team. You will have opportunity to beinvolved with quality improvement projectsled by our ESP & FCP clinical interest groups.
You will have opportunities to develop leadership skills inconjunction with clinical skills.
The department has a track record for staff wellbeingsupport following all local CDDFT guidance, youwill have access to a well-being hub with the North East& North Cumbria Integrated Care System (NENCICS) and you can be invited to the North East NHS outdoorwellbeing group.
CDIMS are committed to working collaboratively with the NENCICS reviewing workforce planning andMSK projects.
CDIMS has a robust intranet physiotherapy site which isconstantly developing which provides guidance on all local MSK pathways,protocols and evidence based leaflets for your use as a resources.
You will have access to rehabmypatient program forindividualised exercise prescriptions for your patients, together withevidenced based leaflets on our intranet produced by the teams special interestgroups. These can be accessed in paper form or electronic versions according topatients individual needs.
In addition we can offer support to physiotherapistsrequiring a return to practice placement for HCPC re - registration through anhonorary contract, can also indicate on your application if you wish to beconsidered for this process.
