Job summary

West Fraser is seeking a Maintenance Technician in Joanna, SC to plan and perform maintenance and repair operations across plant equipment, diagnostics, and controls. The role requires hands-on work with motors, pumps, conveyors, and drives, with a rotating 12-hour schedule including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Minimum HS or GED required.
• Experience with precision alignment of motors, couplings, bearings, and pumps.
• Experience troubleshooting bearings, chains, sprockets, gearboxes, and conveyors.
• Experience reading blueprints.
• 3+ years installing, troubleshooting, and repairing heavy equipment.
• Manufacturing environment experience.
• Eligible to legally work in the United States.
• Willing to work a 12-hour rotating schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Plan and perform maintenance and repair operations to keep plant equipment, machinery, and tools in good operating condition.
• Diagnose malfunctions by sight, sound, or actions of machinery and equipment.
• Start, observe, operate, or activate equipment to verify corrections of malfunction.
• Inspect, clean, or lubricate equipment as preventive maintenance.
• Tear down, replace, repair, install, and assemble equipment, parts, components, and accessories.
• Adjust mechanisms such as feed, speed, power input or output.
• Operate various mechanical and electronic test equipment.
• Remain current in technical changes or equipment designs by attending classes as needed.
