Job summary

UMass Memorial Health seeks a Medical Assistant II to support clinic operations and patient care. You will assist clinicians, perform EKGs and phlebotomy, and handle clerical tasks to keep the office functioning smoothly.

Under licensed clinician supervision, you will collect patient data, document vital signs, and assist with appointments and tests as needed. We value teamwork and compassionate patient care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Current BLS/HS certification from the American Heart Association or obtained within 3 months of hire.
• Medical Assistant credential approved by MA Health Dept or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to rooms and record vital signs per protocol.
• Perform EKGs, phlebotomy and point-of-care tests.
• Prepare and administer injections within scope of practice.
• Assist with routine examinations and clinical procedures.
• Review lab results and promptly alert physicians of abnormal findings.
• Maintain supplies and inventory for the office/clinic.
• Enter patient data into the electronic medical record.
• Process prescriptions and refills as directed.
