Job summary

BayCare in Largo, FL is seeking an Advanced Medical Assistant - BMO to support providers with examinations, procedures, and imaging. You will manage patient histories, collect specimens, and maintain the EMR. Required BLS within 30 days of hire and Florida BMO certification, with high school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Assists providers with patient examinations, procedures, treatment, and x-ray/imaging services.
• Manages patient histories, routine lab procedures, and specimen transport to the lab.
• Follows up on test orders and relays results to providers and patients; maintains patient education materials and EMR.
• Maintains medical equipment and orders clinical supplies; supports front and back-office duties.
• Position may require travel to other sites based on patient volume and clinic needs.
• Ability to work extended hours including weekends.

• Location: Largo, FL
• Status: Full Time (non-exempt)
• Twelve (12) hour shift 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM Monday through Friday
• 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Saturday and Sunday (or until the last patient leaves) with two days on, then two days off rotation.
• This will include every other weekend (Weekend Differential may apply)

The Basic Machine Operator is responsible for the following:

• Assists providers with patient examination, procedures, treatment, and x-ray/imaging services.
• Responsible for patient histories, routine lab procedures and preparation of specimens for transport to the lab.
• Follows up on test orders and reports results to provider and patient, provides and maintains patient education materials, maintains medical equipment, and orders clinical supplies.
• Creates and maintains patient electronic medical record (EMR).
• Complies with all applicable regulatory agency regulations.
• Supports both front and back-office duties.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Position may require travel to other sites depending on patient volume and clinic needs.
• Ability to work extended hours including evenings and weekends.

Required Certification or Licensure includes BLS Certificate and Florida Basic Machine Operator (BMO).

Required Certification and Licensure:

• BLS (Basic Life Support) within 30 days of hire and
• Florida Basic Machine Operator (BMO)

Education:

• Required High School or Equivalent
• Preferred Technical Medical Assistant

Experience:

• Preferred 2 years Medical Assistant
