Job summary

The Pennsylvania State University is seeking an Advance Manufacturing Engineering Technologist to support concept development, equipment, and processes across advanced manufacturing technologies. You will help design curricula, run hands-on labs, and train a diverse workforce of students and industry partners.

You will deploy CNC machining, robotics operation, automation, and simulation tools, collaborating with engineers and industry sponsors to drive innovation and workforce readiness.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Associate’s degree or equivalent apprenticeship in manufacturing or related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience in advanced manufacturing technologies.
  • Certifications in CNC machining, robotics programming, automation systems desired.
  • Experience teaching or training in manufacturing settings.
  • Proficiency in CNC programming, machine operation, CAD/CAM; familiarity with Fanuc/ABB/KUKA; safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Industry Project Support - collaborate with Digital Foundry team and industry partners to deploy and maintain complex electromechanical systems.
  • Training Program Development - design curricula for CNC, robotics, automation and related technologies.
  • Instruction and Workforce Training - deliver in-person and virtual sessions with hands-on labs.
  • Continuous Improvement and Industry Alignment - update content to match industry trends and standards.
