Job summary

Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) in Spokane, WA seeks an experienced Manufacturing Technician to join our team and support advanced manufacturing development for metallic alloys.

You will participate in installing, operating, and maintaining alloy melting and casting equipment, while ensuring quality and safety. The role requires a technical background in mechanical engineering or materials science, with hands-on experience in metal casting, CNC machining, hydraulics, pneumatics, and PLC

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a technical discipline or two years of related manufacturing experience.
• Technical background in mechanical engineering, materials science, metallurgy, manufacturing engineering, industrial technology, or related field.
• At least 2 years of professional experience with manufacturing principles, safety protocols, and machinery operation.
• Hands-on experience in metal manufacturing processes such as metal casting and CNC machining.
• Experience in maintenance and repair operations for hydraulics, injection molding, pneumatics and PLC programming/troubleshooting.
• Strong judgment, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a team.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., move/assemble components, and work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on participation in installation, operation and maintenance of alloy melting and casting equipment.
• Support in implementation of improved manufacturing processes, tooling and equipment.
• Assist in troubleshooting equipment by inspecting electronic, hydraulic, and mechanical components.
• Maintain material processing documentation, process flow diagrams, and drawings for complex equipment and hardware.
