Job summary

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED and either an associates degree in a technical discipline or 2+ years of machine or mechanic experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required, with a technical associate degree preferred.
• 2+ years of machine or mechanic experience as a primary function.
• One year of First Solar technical experience preferred.
• Six months as Temporary Manufacturing Engineering Technician at First Solar is a plus.
• Safety‑mocused, able to work with minimal supervision, and able to communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Solve day-to-day production, equipment, and process problems.
• Identify and implement yield and product performance improvements.
• Develop methods to assign causes to yield excursions.
• Set up and maintain gauges.
• Ensure all processes run on target per the Process Control Plan.
• Respond to SPC process control alarms and restore control.
• Execute planned process experiments and report results.
• Collect data on daily tool and product performance.
• Provide training to production associates.
• Develop and update internal documentation and procedures.
• Interface with internal and supplier personnel to complete projects.
• Develop understanding of area processes, equipment, and support systems.
• Maintain communication with production teams.
• Disposition non-conforming product (NCP) per criteria.
• Adhere to safety and housekeeping standards, manage waste correctly.
• Other duties as assigned.
