Job summary

Clark Construction in Richmond, VA seeks a Superintendent to lead field operations and drive project success on Advanced Manufacturing initiatives. You will oversee self-performed and contracted work, ensuring compliance with contract documents and the schedule while fostering a safety- and quality-first culture.

You will develop and communicate project plans, manage logistics, and mentor teams across sites.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or graduate degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or related field, or relevant work experience.
• 7+ years of experience on large-scale commercial construction projects.
• 2+ years leading, developing, and motivating teams.
• In-depth knowledge of the construction process including scheduling, contract administration, equipment, and personnel.
• Working knowledge of applicable safety regulations (OSHA).

Responsibilities

• Oversee the timely and quality installation of contracted work for total projects, scopes, trades, or portions.
• Implement a culture of safety and quality among Clark employees and trade contractors; conduct safety inspections.
• Create and manage plans to sequence work, manage site logistics, and track materials and personnel.
• Ensure high quality workmanship aligned with project and company standards.
• Develop, update, and communicate the project schedule with key stakeholders.
• Mentor and develop team members to build a high-performing group.
• Maintain professionalism in internal and external meetings and interactions.
• Understand owner contracts, subcontracts, and vendor agreements; assist in KPI tracking.
• Support close-out activities including punch lists and building operations training.
• Identify and cultivate relationships with industry professionals to win work; recruit top talent.
• Exceed stakeholder expectations by anticipating needs and goals.
