Job summary

Truckee Meadows Community College is looking for Part-Time Faculty to teach courses in fields such as electrical, automation, and mechatronics. Qualified applicants will join an ongoing pool for temporary teaching positions and contribute positively to students’ learning.

Job Description

Truckee Meadows Community College (TMCC) is recruiting Part‑Time Faculty to teach courses in electrical, automation, mechanical, mechatronics, IIoT, robotics, and PLC for the Department of Advanced Manufacturing. The college welcomes qualified applicants from all backgrounds for temporary Part‑Time Faculty teaching assignments. Candidates may be called to teach in‑person, online, or hybrid courses when vacancies occur.

Part‑Time Faculty are an essential part of TMCC operations and have a positive impact on students’ lives. Under the supervision of the Department Chair, they teach course content, assess student learning, stay current in their teaching field, refer students to supportive college resources, complete professional development, use current technology, and maintain appropriate standards of ethics and professional conduct.

Typical assignments include teaching a variety of courses based on staffing and program needs, such as:

  • MPT 101: Basics of Operations and Maintenance
  • MPT 135: Material Handling
  • ELM 110: Electrical/Electronic Circuits

The program is taught at the William N. Pennington Center (475 Edison Way & 645 Plumb Lane). Mobile training is also offered to businesses in remote locations.

Salary

Part‑Time Faculty are paid $1,050 per credit for 100‑ and 200‑level courses and $1,150 per credit for 300‑ and 400‑level courses.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree in Advanced Manufacturing, Industrial Controls, or a closely related field and at least 6 months’ experience in an advanced manufacturing or industrial environment. Degree may be substituted with equivalent academic preparation and an additional two years of professional experience.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Conditions of Employment

This is an ongoing pool of qualified individuals for part‑time, temporary non‑tenure‑track instructional assignments. Assignments are part‑time only and are not continued beyond the ending date.
