Job summary

Texas State Technical College is seeking an Instructor to deliver approved curriculum in an applied learning environment. You will facilitate diverse learning styles, mentor students, assess progress, and provide constructive feedback to support outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Verifiable work experience with industrial equipment.
  • Strong Electrical/ programming skills.
  • Working knowledge of Electrical Motor Control Systems.
  • Working knowledge of Electrical Motor Control Schematics.
  • Working knowledge of Maintenance of Industrial equipment.
  • Working knowledge of Mechanical Power Transmission systems.
  • Working knowledge of basic fluid power (hydraulic and pneumatic) systems.
  • Working knowledge of basic PLC operation and programming.
  • Working knowledge of programming electrical speed control systems (AC/DC Drives).
  • Working knowledge of basic machining and welding.
  • Associate degree in a closely related field and demonstrated qualifications in the technology’s teaching discipline.
  • Verifiable professional experience may be accepted in lieu of other requirements as approved by the Vice Chancellor who oversees academic programs, or his/her designee.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a closely related teaching discipline

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and deliver high quality instruction and facilitate the learning of students.
  • Develop appropriate course syllabi and instructional plans, and organize daily classes utilizing a variety of creative/innovative techniques.
  • Fulfill assigned schedule, maintain accurate student records, and ensure safety and equipment security where applicable.
  • Provide student advisement and collaborate with Student Success to improve retention and progression.
  • Participate in recruitment events and assist in department/program planning.
  • Demonstrate teamwork and service, supporting students, parents, employers, and the community.
