Job summary

Baker Hughes in Houston is seeking an Operator - MFG Equip IV to assist in maintaining plant production by performing repairs within their scope of expertise and by following safe work procedures.

You will interpret work orders, perform mechanical repairs, conduct preventive maintenance, set up and operate equipment, monitor quality, and support production in varying conditions, with a strong emphasis on safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of manufacturing and/or oil/gas experience preferred.
• Have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent qualification.
• Demonstrate mechanical aptitude and ability to perform equipment maintenance and repairs.
• Experience using general hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
• Ability to interpret work instructions, procedures, and work orders.
• Strong commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence.
• Capable of operating manufacturing and production equipment in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Work with minimal supervision and manage responsibilities independently.
• Willing to work rotating shifts and support plant operational requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs within scope of expertise to assist in maintaining plant production.
• Interpret and execute work orders following established safe work procedures.
• Perform mechanical repairs on plant equipment and complete preventive maintenance as scheduled.
• Set up, monitor, and operate manufacturing, production, and process-related equipment.
• Operate multiple machines to support production requirements.
• Perform quality assurance in accordance with ISO and engineering requirements.
• Test, troubleshoot, and repair instrumentation systems associated with production equipment.
• Support production activities in indoor and outdoor environments and different weather conditions.
• Follow competency management program requirements and work effectively with minimal supervision.
