Socket.dev is seeking an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer II to apply technical expertise to ensure product integrity and maximize efficiency, working with labs and factory operations on MEMS/IMU products.

You will lead process improvements, define equipment requirements, support production, and drive producibility through Lean, Six Sigma, RCCA, and FMEA methodologies.

This role emphasizes hands-on, cross-functional collaboration and continuous improvement to meet product specifications.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in STEM field.
  • 2+ years experience in manufacturing, test, fabrication, or assembly processes.
  • Strong analytical and statistical problem solving skills.
  • Hands-on work ethic with initiative and ownership of responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide test and manufacturing support for RLG and MEMS based inertial measurement units (IMUs).
  • Perform yield and performance data analysis to monitor process capability and product health trends.
  • Utilize CAMP, Lean, and Six-Sigma methodologies to govern engineering standard work practices.
  • Investigate and resolve technical issues, facilitate issue identification and analysis.
  • Develop improvements in product design and in the manufacturing and assembly processes for cost and cycle time reductions.
  • Assist development of new products.
  • Support knowledge for test equipment and preventative maintenance plans to maintain factory capacity and efficient product flow.
  • Facilitate a self-driven work force culture to achieve RTY, BIQ, COPQ, and other SQDIC goals.

The Advanced Manufacturing Engineer II applies technical expertise with responsibility for product and process application to ensure product integrity manufacturing output while leading continuous improvements, working with both labs and factory operations.

Our team develops new or modifies current processes, defines process equipment requirements and specifications, and reviews processing techniques and methods applied in the manufacture, fabrication, and evaluation of Ring Laser Gyroscope and MEMS based inertial sensors and IMUs. The Advanced Manufacturing Engineer II influences the planning and designing of manufacturing engineering processes bydetermining parts and tools needed by the team to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specification, for both existing and new processes/product technologies. This role strives to maximize efficiency by analyzing the layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods, and work force utilization. The Advanced Manufacturing Engineer II supports daily production activities and drives producibility improvement projects in a challenging environment.

Qualifications

You Must Have

  • Bachelor's Degree in STEM field
  • 2+ years experience; manufacturing, test, fabrication, or assembly processes
