Job summary

Rivian in Irvine, CA is seeking an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer to bridge design and high-volume production of electromechanical assemblies. You will work with internal design teams, contract manufacturers, and suppliers to ensure manufacturability, yield, and cost targets are met.

The role combines design for manufacturing, automation development, supplier engagement, and industrialization activities, requiring travel to support CM activities and close collaboration across cross-functional

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing engineering, industrialization, or DFM roles with a focus on automation and tooling development.
• Experience with precision joining, molding/casting, and thermal interface materials.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD and GD&T with tolerance stack-up analysis.

Responsibilities

• Design for Manufacturing: ensure manufacturability of electro-mechanical assemblies and align designs with CM capabilities.
• Automation and Process Development: drive process optimization, oversee machine suppliers, and lead CAD-to-manufacturing bridging activities.
• Supplier Engagement and Industrialization: liaison with contract manufacturers, validate processes, drive yield improvements, and ensure production readiness.
