Job summary

Energizer Holdings, Inc. in Vandalia, OH, seeks an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer to lead manufacturing support for New Product Development, capital projects, and cost optimization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 6 years of technical manufacturing, capital projects, or cost engineering experience.
  • Ability to lead without direct authority and influence cross-functional teams.
  • Strong cost estimation, budgeting, financial modeling, and cost-benefit analysis.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with risk assessment.
  • Experience with capital planning, project justification, and long-term strategic decisions.
  • Knowledge of NEC, OSHA, and LOTO safety standards.
  • Familiarity with Six Sigma, OEE, TPM, and reliability engineering.
  • MS Office; SAP and engineering design tools preferred.
  • Strong communication to leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership with clear technical directions and strong project planning, upholding safety, quality, cost, and delivery standards.
  • Influence cross-functional teams to align on project objectives and plant priorities.
  • Develop and maintain detailed plans, procedures, and technical documentation for NPD initiatives.
  • Lead technical studies, engineering evaluations, testing, and QA activities to verify performance and reliability.
  • Coordinate capital and plant project activities from planning through execution, including reviewing proposals and managing contractors.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates covering materials, labor, equipment, and scope.
  • Perform cost-benefit analyses, financial modeling, and scenario evaluations to support capital justification.
  • Monitor project budgets, evaluate variances, identify risks, and propose corrective actions.
  • Deliver financial, technical, and project performance reports to Plant Manager and senior stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across plant systems and processes.
  • Communicate engineering, cost, and project impacts clearly to internal teams.
  • Lead annual Cost Road Map planning and plant NPD costing reviews.

Position Summary
As the Advanced Manufacturing Engineer for Energizer\'s Global Auto Care business, you will lead manufacturing support for New Product Development initiatives, capital projects, and cost optimization efforts. Partnering closely with Operations, R&D, Marketing, and Engineering, you will help ensure products are designed for efficient, cost-effective manufacturing while driving improvements in plant performance and profitability. This role requires strong cross-functional collaboration, technical leadership, and the ability to influence decisions that support business growth and operational excellence.
Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership by setting clear technical directions, ensuring strong project planning, and upholding Energizer\’s standards for safety, quality, cost, and delivery.
  • Influence and guide cross-functional teams—including engineering, R&D, marketing, operations, maintenance, and corporate partners to ensure alignment on project objectives and plant priorities.
  • Develop and maintain detailed plans, procedures, and technical documentation to support NPD technology initiatives.
  • Lead technical studies, engineering evaluations, testing, and quality assurance activities to verify performance and drive process reliability.
  • Coordinate capital and plant project activities from planning through execution, including reviewing proposals, defining objectives, developing schedules, and managing contractor engagement.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates covering materials, labor, equipment, and project scope.
  • Perform cost‑benefit analyses, financial modeling, and scenario evaluations to support capital justification and strategic decision‑making.
  • Monitor project budgets, evaluate variances, identify risks, and recommend corrective actions and mitigation strategies.
  • Develop and deliver clear financial, technical, and project performance reports for the Plant Manager and other Senior stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, efficiency, and optimization across plant systems and processes.
  • Communicate engineering, cost, and project impacts effectively across all internal teams, ensuring clarity and shared understanding.
  • Lead plant annual Cost Road Map planning and activities to identify product cost reduction activities.
  • Develop and lead plant NPD costing review to identify actions needed to adhere actual verse quoted.
What we are looking for
  • Bachelor\’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, related field or equivalent experience.

  • Experience supporting capital planning, project justification, and long‑term strategic decision‑making.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and safety standards including NEC, OSHA, and LOTO requirements.
  • Familiarity with Six Sigma, OEE, TPM, and reliability engineering practices.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite; experience with SAP and engineering design tools preferred.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present technical and financial information clearly to leadership teams.

Total Rewards Package
The salary range for this position is USD $110,000.00/Yr. - USD $139,000.00/Yr.
Actual base salary offered to a candidate may vary based upon factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.
Bonus: This position is bonus eligible.
