Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Lead capital equipment and tooling projects from concept to launch.
  • Develop and improve assembly and metal fabrication processes for safety and throughput.
  • Partner with product engineering to incorporate DFMA principles.
  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, quality, EHS and industrial engineering teams.
  • Design equipment/workstations with ergonomics, flow, line balancing and standard work in mind.
  • Ensure manufacturing readiness for new product introductions and process capability.
  • Work with automation and robotics to develop cost-effective solutions.
  • Drive OEE and minimize downtime through reliable equipment and processes.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation such as control plans and work instructions.
  • Train operators, technicians, and maintenance personnel on equipment operation and maintenance.

Job description

We are seeking an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer to support high-volume dishwasher manufacturing within the appliance industry. This role is responsible for leading capital equipment and manufacturing process projects that support new product introductions, cost reduction, safety, quality, and plant performance improvements. The ideal candidate will bring hands‑on manufacturing experience, strong project execution skills, and the ability to work effectively across engineering, operations, suppliers, and plant teams.

  • Lead capital equipment and tooling projects from concept through specification, supplier selection, design review, installation, qualification, and launch.
  • Develop and improve assembly and metal fabrication processes to support safety, quality, throughput, and labor efficiency goals.
  • Partner with product engineering to ensure Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) principles are incorporated into product and process design.
  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, EHS, quality, and industrial engineering teams to implement robust, safe, and efficient manufacturing solutions.
  • Design manufacturing equipment and workstations with consideration for ergonomics, material flow, model mix, line balancing, standard work, and in‑line quality.
  • Support new product introductions by ensuring manufacturing readiness, process capability, and successful integration into the production environment.
  • Work with automation and robotics engineers and external suppliers to develop cost‑effective automation solutions.
  • Drive equipment reliability and process robustness to maximize Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and minimize downtime.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation including control plans, work instructions, and process standards.
  • Train operators, technicians, and maintenance personnel on equipment operation, troubleshooting, and basic maintenance.
Requirements
  • :Bachelor’s Degree in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related degre
  • e3+ years’ experience in manufacturing equipment and processe
sDesired Characteristics
  • :Hands‑on experience with manufacturing equipment, tooling, and production processes
  • .Experience working in a cross‑functional manufacturing environment with operations, maintenance, quality, and engineering teams
  • .Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methods
  • .Strong communication, organization, and project management skills
  • .Proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications
  • .Experience in high‑volume manufacturing, preferably in appliance, automotive, or consumer durable goods industries
  • .Experience supporting new product introduction (NPI) or product launch activities
  • .Experience with capital equipment procurement, installation, and qualification
  • .Knowledge of assembly processes, metal fabrication, workstation design, and material presentation
  • .Experience with automation, robotics, or semi‑automated manufacturing systems
  • .Familiarity with GD&T, DFMA, TPM, OEE, control plans, and process documentation
  • .Experience driving safety, quality, and productivity improvements in a plant environment
  • .Prior experience with Creo or SolidWorks or equivalent tools
.Working Conditions
  • :This position is primarily based in Louisville, KY, but requires travel to other locations as needed. The primary work schedule is the 1st shift; however, occasional support during weekends, 2nd, and 3rd shifts may be necessary
  • .Working conditions are normal for a high‑volume manufacturing environment
  • .Work may involve lifting materials and products up to 30 pounds and working in and around heavy equipment
  • .Working in this environment requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to, eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, work boots, and hard hats
  • .These roles require frequent walking in a manufacturing plant environment
