Job summary

Stokes County Government in North Carolina seeks a Paramedic to operate an Advanced Life Support unit and provide pre-hospital care on-scene and enroute to hospital. You will transport patients and adhere to protocols while delivering life-sustaining treatments.

As a member of the ambulance crew, you will perform defibrillation, airway management, IV therapy, and monitor patients. Valid NC paramedic certification and driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a High School or possess a GED.
• 1-2 years’ experience in advanced emergency medical service work.
• Associates degree in EMS or related field.
• National Registry Paramedic Certification.
• Must possess a valid state driver’s license.
• Certification in CPR.

Responsibilities

• Responds to emergency calls as a Paramedic on an Advanced Life Support unit.
• Administers emergency medical care including airway management and meds.
• Operates suction, IVs, cardiac monitor/defibrillator, and intubation equipment.
• Responds to non-emergency transports between facilities.
• Inspects ambulances and equipment; maintains inventory.
• Maintains EMS facilities and stations; supports volunteers as needed.
• Performs related duties as required.
