The City of Lynchburg is seeking EMS personnel to provide advanced life support at scenes and during transport. You will respond to incidents, drive EMS units, and deliver pre-hospital care as part of the Fire Department team.
Qualifications include EMT-Paramedic or equivalent, CPR, ACLS, EVOC Level II, and NIMS IS-100/700 training within 90 days. A valid Virginia driver’s license is required, with no recent DUI or disqualifying violations.

Performs difficult protective services work related to emergency medical services and engages directly in providing advanced life support and stabilization procedures at the scene of a medical emergency and during transport to medical facilities; does related EMS and emergency services work as required by performing the following duties. Other duties to provide direct or indirect service to the citizens may be assigned. Work is performed under the regular supervision of the Fire Department Captains.

Possession of valid driver's license issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia and acceptable driving record according to the City's Driving Criteria.
No DUI or drug related convictions, or VASAP attendance within 5 years of application for employment.
Must successfully complete IS100 and IS700 National Incident Management (NIMS) training within 90 days of employment. May also be required to complete higher levels of NIMS training as determined appropriate for the position.
