Job summary

Optical Cable Corporation seeks a production operator to run large extruders and related lines on a schedule basis in Roanoke, Virginia. You will monitor runs, adjust setups, and ensure quality against specs while maintaining productive workflow.

This role requires 1–2 years of machine operating experience, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to read technical instructions. Forklift experience and Syspro ERP familiarity are a plus; strong teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years of machine operating experience preferred.
• Effective interpersonal and teamwork skills; orientation/validation completion required.

Responsibilities

• Review setup sheets and product codes and monitor quality against standards.
• Set up and run products on ILA, large extruders, strander, filler and rework lines as needed.
• Print to cables accurately using jet and mechanical printers.
• Fill, empty and monitor material dryers.
• Operate rework line for remakes including washing and respooling.
• Complete job documentation accurately and on time.
