Job summary

Control Tech in Troy, PA is seeking a 3rd Year Instrument Apprentice field technician to learn from an Instrument Journeyman. You will test, calibrate, install, repair, and inspect manufacturing equipment and monitoring devices.

The role covers reading P&ID drawings, installing instrumentation, maintenance, calibration, and safety compliance. Oil and gas experience is a plus; pre-employment drug tests and background checks apply.

Qualifications

First Aid/CPR with AED required or preferred.
H2S Alive, CSO and CSTS certifications are listed as required qualifications.
Criminal background check and clean driving record are prerequisites for safety-sensitive roles.

Responsibilities

Reads and interprets P&ID drawings.
Assists with installing process control and measurement instrumentation.
Performs mechanical work on instrument repair and modification; removes and installs small piping and tubing.
Rebuilds control valves and tunes controllers.
Performs preventative maintenance on instrumentation and maintains records.
Uses test equipment to troubleshoot systems.
Installs and repairs chemical pumps.
Participates in safety programs and company policies; on-call support.
Other duties as required.
