Job summary

Apex Home Health, Hospice & Home Care in Sioux Falls, SD seeks a Board-Certified Hematologist/Oncologist with a minimum of three years of experience. You will provide comprehensive hematology and oncology care in a collaborative setting, triaging consults and supervising chemotherapeutic treatments.

You will coordinate care across specialties, participate in tumor boards, oversee infusion center operations, and mentor PAs and NPs while attending committees and CME activities.

Qualifications

• Board-certified in hematology/oncology with fellowship training.
• Experience evaluating consult requests and coordinating care.
• Ability to supervise infusion services and multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, triage, and prioritize hematology/oncology consults.
• Order and supervise chemotherapeutic treatments and bone marrow procedures.

Join a dedicated healthcare team as a Board-Certified Hematologist/Oncologist with a minimum of three years of experience.

This role involves providing comprehensive, patient-centered hematology and oncology care within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.

Key responsibilities include evaluating, triaging, and prioritizing consult requests, ordering and supervising chemotherapeutic treatments, performing bone marrow aspirations and biopsies, and actively participating in tumor boards.

The physician will coordinate care across specialties such as radiation, surgical oncology, hospice, and palliative care to ensure seamless treatment planning for patients with complex conditions.

Additional duties encompass overseeing infusion center operations, interpreting pathology, imaging, and molecular testing, participating in clinical trials and quality improvement activities, and developing treatment protocols.

The role also involves supervising and mentoring Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners, teaching medical staff, attending meetings, serving on committees, conducting peer reviews, maintaining certification, and completing required CME and training.
