Job summary

Houston Methodist in Houston, TX is seeking an experienced Advanced Heart Failure Cardiologist to join our premier Heart and Vascular Center. The role involves providing comprehensive care for patients with advanced heart failure, including those requiring mechanical circulatory support and heart transplantation.

A minimum of 3 years of post-fellowship experience is preferred, but strong candidates from recent Advanced Heart Failure/Transplant Cardiology fellowships are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
Board-certified or board-eligible in Cardiology and Advanced Heart Failure/Transplant Cardiology.
Experience in advanced heart failure and transplant therapy.

Responsibilities

Deliver expert care for advanced heart failure patients in inpatient and outpatient settings.
Evaluate and manage patients for ventricular assist devices (VADs) and heart transplantation.
Collaborate with transplant surgeons, nurses, and pharmacists to develop individualized care plans.
Participate in clinical trials and research initiatives to improve heart failure outcomes.
Educate patients and families on treatment options, lifestyle modifications, and disease management.
