Job summary

Houston Methodist in Houston, TX is seeking an experienced Advanced Heart Failure Cardiologist to join our premier Heart and Vascular Center. The role involves providing comprehensive care for patients with advanced heart failure, including those requiring mechanical circulatory support and heart transplantation.

A minimum of 3 years of post-fellowship experience is preferred, but strong candidates from recent Advanced Heart Failure/Transplant Cardiology fellowships are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Board-certified or board-eligible in Cardiology and Advanced Heart Failure/Transplant Cardiology.
• Experience in advanced heart failure and transplant therapy.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert care for advanced heart failure patients in inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Evaluate and manage patients for ventricular assist devices (VADs) and heart transplantation.
• Collaborate with transplant surgeons, nurses, and pharmacists to develop individualized care plans.
• Participate in clinical trials and research initiatives to improve heart failure outcomes.
• Educate patients and families on treatment options, lifestyle modifications, and disease management.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Heart Failure Cardiologist to join our highly skilled team. This role involves providing comprehensive care for patients with advanced heart failure, including those requiring mechanical circulatory support and heart transplantation. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to pioneering advances in heart failure management and at least 3 years of post-fellowship experience. However, we also welcome applications from recent Advanced Heart Failure/Transplant Cardiology fellowship graduates who demonstrate outstanding potential in this field.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver expert care for advanced heart failure patients, from diagnosis to long-term management, in both in-patient and out-patient settings.
• Evaluate and manage patients for therapies including ventricular assist devices (VADs) and heart transplantation.
• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team comprising transplant surgeons, heart failure nurses, and pharmacists to develop individualized care plans.
• Participate in clinical trials and contribute to research initiatives aimed at enhancing heart failure outcomes.
• Educate patients and families on treatment options, lifestyle modifications, and management of heart failure.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Board-certified or board-eligible in both Cardiology and Advanced Heart Failure/Transplant Cardiology.
• Proven expertise in managing complex heart failure and advanced therapy cases.
• Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and communication skills.
