Job summary

University of Washington is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (MA-C) for the UW Medical Center-Montlake Heart Institute's Advanced Heart Failure and Mechanical Circulatory Support programs. You will work with RN Coordinators to support patients and their needs throughout the care continuum in an outpatient setting.

The role offers a 40-hour work week, day shift, and collaboration within an interdisciplinary team at a renowned academic medical center near public transit in Seattle.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Washington State MA-C certification required.
• BLS for Healthcare Provider CPR required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.

Responsibilities

• Provides between-visit-care support for the aligned teams.
• Reviews and inputs lab results.
• Assists with clinic prep and orders for heart failure patients.
• Appropriately documents findings in the patient’s medical record.
• Uploads outside records and imaging to EMR.
• Directly communicate with patients regarding appointments and plans.
• Prepares equipment for VAD implants and manages VAD inventory.
• Performs role-related duties as required.
