Job summary
Houston Methodist is seeking an experienced Advanced Heart Failure Cardiologist to join our premier Heart and Vascular Center. The role includes caring for patients with advanced heart failure, evaluating candidates for ventricular assist devices and heart transplantation, and working with a multidisciplinary team across clinics and the hospital.
The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of post-fellowship experience, commitments to research, and a passion for advancing heart failure management
Qualifications
- MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
- Board-certified or board-eligible in both Cardiology and Advanced Heart Failure/Transplant Cardiology.
- Proven expertise in managing complex heart failure and advanced therapy cases.
- Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Deliver expert care for advanced heart failure patients in in-patient and out-patient settings.
- Evaluate and manage patients for VADs and heart transplantation.
- Collaborate with transplant surgeons, heart failure nurses, and pharmacists to create individualized care plans.
- Participate in clinical trials and research initiatives to improve outcomes.
- Educate patients and families on treatment options and lifestyle modifications.
