Job summary

Marshall University’s School of Medicine seeks a board-certified/board-eligible Advanced Heart Failure Cardiologist to join a growing academic cardiology program. The role emphasizes advanced heart failure management, including transplant evaluation and mechanical circulatory support, with protected time for teaching and scholarly activity.

Qualifications

• MD or DO (or foreign equivalent) required.
• Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited Cardiovascular Disease fellowship and an Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology fellowship.
• Board certification in Cardiovascular Disease or eligibility for certification.
• Must hold or be eligible for a West Virginia medical license at time of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care for patients with advanced heart failure, including transplant evaluation and mechanical circulatory support.
• Participate in development and advancement of the Advanced Heart Failure program with multidisciplinary teams.
• Serve as attending physician at primary site with rotation across two hospitals and satellite clinics.
• Teach and mentor fellows, residents, and medical students.
• Engage in scholarly activity including quality improvement, clinical research, and collaboration with related programs.
