School of Rock Prosper in Prosper, TX seeks an Advanced Guitar Instructor to lead high-level private lessons, direct advanced ensemble rehearsals, and mentor students through challenging repertoire.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of professional performance or instruction, mastery of lead and rhythm guitar across genres, and a formal music degree or equivalent experience. This role emphasizes mentorship, clear communication with families, and a passion for developing young musicians.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional music performance or advanced music instruction required.
• Proficiency in lead and rhythm guitar across diverse genres.
• Formal music degree or equivalent experience required.
• Ability to teach advanced techniques and lead complex rehearsals.

Responsibilities

• Teach advanced guitar techniques including swept/alternate picking, extended chord voicings, advanced modes/scales, improvisation, fingerstyle, and genre-specific stylings (Prog, Jazz-Fusion, Metal, Classic Rock, Blues, etc.).
• Direct advanced student ensemble rehearsals, arrange intricate multi-guitar parts, and prepare students for main-stage performances.
• Embed advanced music theory, ear training, rhythm dynamics, and sight-reading/charts into regular instruction.
• Build tailored lesson plans designed to overcome specific technical bottlenecks for developing musicians.
