Job summary

School of Rock is seeking an Advanced Guitar Instructor to elevate intermediate and advanced students through high-level private lessons and complex ensemble rehearsals. You will mentor students in challenging material and help them grow technically.

The ideal candidate demonstrates deep guitar mastery across genres, strong teaching skills, and the ability to translate complex concepts into actionable lessons while maintaining a passion for mentoring young musicians.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional music performance or advanced instruction experience.
• Proficiency in lead and rhythm guitar across genres; strong theory.
• Formal music degree or equivalent professional experience.

Responsibilities

• Teach advanced guitar techniques including sweeping/alternate picking, extended voicings, modes/scales, improvisation.
• Direct advanced student ensemble rehearsals and prepare for main-stage performances.
• Embed advanced theory, ear training, rhythm dynamics, sight-reading into instruction.
• Create customized lesson plans to overcome technical bottlenecks.
