Job summary

TECHEAD is seeking an Advanced GIS Analyst to support its Highway Maintenance Management Section in Mechanicsville, VA. The role emphasizes advanced spatial analysis, enterprise asset data management, GIS web app development, and cross-system collaboration.

The position is a 7+ month contract with hybrid work in Mechanicsville, VA. Requires a bachelor’s in GIS or related field and 4–8 years of GIS experience, including web mapping and Python development.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Cartography, CS or related field with GIS experience.
4–8 years GIS and application development experience (minimum 6 years direct experience).
5+ years designing, building, deploying web mapping applications.
High proficiency with ArcGIS Pro (3.x+), ArcSDE, and ArcGIS Enterprise.
Proficiency in Python.
Strong communication and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

Analyze, validate, and maintain GIS data for core transportation maintenance assets.
Perform complex spatial analysis and create multi-layered maps and tools.
Serve as a technical liaison between IT, asset management admins, and end users.
Support Linear Referencing Systems (LRS) and integrate spatial data with enterprise asset platforms.
