Job summary

Baltimore City is seeking a Forensic Scientist II to perform complex analyses in the Forensic Lab across disciplines such as Firearms, Toxicology, DNA, Serology, and Latent Prints. The role involves on-call duties and rotating shifts in a demanding laboratory environment.

Requirements include a bachelor’s degree in a relevant science and two years of evidence analysis experience; master’s degree with one year experience may substitute. Certification may be required.

Qualifications

• Education: bachelor’s in chemistry, biology, forensic science, criminal justice or related science.
• Experience: two years in comparative analysis or evidence evaluation; firearms or latent fingerprints incl. court testimony.

Responsibilities

• Conduct complex laboratory tests across forensic disciplines (firearms, toxicology, serology, DNA, trace evidence, latent prints).
• Interpret results with computerized instruments and prepare reports for court.
• Testify effectively in a court of law and present exhibits.
