Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior floor care experience (commercial or industrial) preferred.
• Ability to safely operate commercial floor machines.
• Knowledge of chemical handling, dilution, and safety requirements.
• Ability to lift, move, and transport equipment and furniture as needed.
• Ability to lift, bend, walk, stand, and perform repetitive tasks.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow a cleaning schedule.
• Reliability and consistent attendance.
• Ability to retain or obtain a background/security clearance commensurate with the position.
• Ability to work independently while adhering to safety and security policies.

Responsibilities

• Perform stripping, waxing, buffing, burnishing, and refinishing of hard-surface floors.
• Operate floor care equipment including buffers, burnishers, auto-scrubbers, and vacuums.
• Extract and deep-clean carpets using commercial extractors.
• Clean and maintain equipment, ensuring proper operation and safety.
• Sweep, scrub, and prep floors prior to finishing applications.
• Apply finish coats evenly and safely with dry-time adherence.
• Monitor floor conditions and identify refinishing or repair needs.
• Follow safety procedures around chemicals, PPE, and slip hazards.
• Move furniture and set up/take down work areas as needed.
• Work independently or as part of a project team to complete schedules on time.
• Communicate with supervisors regarding progress, supplies, and site issues.
• Other duties as assigned.
