Job summary

Yakima Klickitat Fisheries Project (YKFP) within the Department of Natural Resources seeks a Fish Culturist II to support hatchery operations at Ellensburg. The position requires a high school diploma plus two years of hatchery experience, drug screening, and a WA driver’s license with Yakama Nation permit.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and two years of fish hatchery experience.
• Must pass pre-employment drug test.
• Must possess a valid Washington State Driver's License with Yakama Nation Tribal Driving Permit.
• Enrolled Yakama Preference, but all qualified applicants are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to the Hatchery Manager and work unit in operation and maintenance of fish hatcheries.
• Perform duties involved in fish hatchery production and assist in manual and technical work.
• Care for fish and facilities as scheduled.
• Maintain propagation records including pond loss, weights, diets, and water temperature.
