Job summary

Radial Solutions Inc. (RSi) in Huntsville, AL is seeking an Engineering Technician IV to support NASA on the METTS contract. The role involves developing, reviewing, and modifying engineering designs and conducting complex tests to identify inconsistencies and improvements.

Occasional overtime and second or third shift support may be required for 24/7 onsite or on-call needs. Duties include assembly of flight hardware and work with electrical, electronic, and mechanical components.

Qualifications

• Practical knowledge of science or engineering.
• Highly specialized skills related to test facilities, test stands, laboratories, chambers, equipment through training or on-the-job experience.
• Ability to prepare design drawings and assist with design/evaluation of machinery.
• Ability to communicate with peers, supervisors and customers clearly and effectively.
• Welding and welding-prep experience, including orbital welding (certification required).

Responsibilities

• Develop or review designs by analyzing engineering data and creating schematics, drawings, and parts lists.
• Conduct complex tests or experiments, operate equipment, record data, and analyze results.
• Construct prototypes or modify designs to meet requirements and evaluate data.
• Extract and compile engineering data from notes, reports, and manuals.
• Assist in design modification by compiling data on specifications and materials.
• Work with electrical, electronic, or mechanical components; perform non-routine, complex assignments.
• Receive guidance from supervisors or engineers.
• Perform welding and welding-prep tasks, including orbital welding.
