Job summary
AdventHealth in Florida is seeking a skilled Endoscopy Technician to support complex GI and pulmonary procedures at our TavARES facility. The role involves decontamination, reprocessing, and assisting during endoscopic and related procedures under physician supervision.
Responsibilities include patient prep, equipment troubleshooting, and contributing to safety and quality initiatives. Candidates should have GI/pulmonary procedure experience, BLS, SGNA certification, and good English
Qualifications
- High School Grad or Equiv [Required]
- 1+ experience in assisting GI physicians with complex procedures in GI or pulmonary [Required]
- 1+ years experience as an endoscopy technician or similar health care role [Required]
- Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR certification [Required]
- Advanced GI Tech certification (SGNA) [Required]
Responsibilities
- Supports practice changes due to performance improvement activities and upholds departmental standards and initiatives.
- Performs decontamination functions, reprocesses scopes/equipment, and operates endoscope reprocessors with proper record-keeping.
- Prepares patients for procedures and assists in medication delivery under physician supervision.
- Assists in complex endoscopic and pulmonary procedures including navigational and ultrasound-guided techniques.
- Trains others as a preceptor or trainer and participates in research projects following protocols.
