Job summary

Atrium Health's Advocate EMS is seeking an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to provide pre-hospital care under supervision. The EMT will assess patients, manage illness and injuries, and ensure safe transport to medical facilities with teamwork across the EMS and hospital staff.

Required qualifications include a state-approved EMT course, valid driver’s license, BLS, EMT-A certification, ACLS and BTLS or equivalent, along with a high school diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• State-approved Emergency Medical Technician course required.
• Licensure/Certification: valid driver’s license and driving record per policy; current Basic Life Support (BLS); current state EMT certification (EMT-A); current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); current Basic Trauma Life Support (BTLS) or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic to intermediate-level emergency and non-emergency pre-hospital care.
• Assess illness and/or injury and manage patient care.
• Safely transport patients to appropriate medical facilities and transfer information.
