Job summary

WellSpan Health is seeking an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician to respond to EMS calls and provide high-quality patient care in accordance with PA DOH EMS Act and scope of practice. Responsibilities

• Respond to EMS calls and operate an emergency vehicle with due regard for safety.
• Provide health care instruction to patient and family.
• Prepare patients for procedures and assist in assessments.
• Administer and monitor IV fluids as needed.
• Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls as an Advanced Life Support Provider per PA DOH EMS protocols.

General Summary

Responds to EMS calls and performs a variety of functions related to the care and treatment of patients suffering from urgent and emergent disease and/or injury states in accordance with appropriate rules, regulations, and protocols. according to PA DOH EMS Act and scope of practice.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

• Responds to EMS calls whether emergency or routine transport, observes safety policies and operates an emergency vehicle with due regard for others.
• Provides health care instruction/education to patient and family members.
• Prepares patients for scheduled procedures and assists in patient assessment.
• Prepares, hangs, monitors, and discontinues I.V. fluids.
• Responds to emergency non-emergency calls as an Advanced Life Support Provider when appropriate, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health (PA DOH) EMS protocols.

• Participates in educational programs and in service meetings.
• Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.

Driver's License Statement

Must possess a valid driver's license in the current state of residence. Driving record must meet requirements established by WellSpan Risk Management.
