Job summary

CWC Textron, a long-standing safety-conscious foundry in Western Michigan, seeks an Advanced Electrician to join their Muskegon team. Starting pay is $48.00 per hour for qualified candidates, with strong possibilities for growth in a plant operating for over 117 years.

Candidate must have Master Electrician Certification or an associate degree in electrical, plus a minimum of 10 years of industrial experience and proficiency in PLC controls, low voltage up to 480 V, and reading schematics.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Master Electrician Certification or associate’s degree in electrical or electronics or Industrial Electricity Certificate or Equivalent required.
• Minimum of 10 years of industrial experience in trade or Master Electrician License.
• Experience with low voltage and voltage controls up to 480 volts.

Responsibilities

• Repair/rebuild electric motors (except rewinding stators and armatures).
• Troubleshoot/repair induction furnaces, mold unit, hydraulic systems.
• Repair of Electric Overhead cranes and Hoists (Electrical and Mechanical, except welding).
• Repair of low voltage and voltage controls up to 480 volts.
• Read electrical schematics and diagrams; lay out electrical cabinets.

• Trouble shoot/repair induction furnaces, mold unit, hydraulic systems
• Repair of Electric Overhead cranes and Hoists (Electrical and Mechanical, except welding)
• Repair of Low voltage and voltage controls up to 480 volts
• Ability to read electrical schematics and diagrams
• Must be able to make conduit runs and layout electrical cabinets

What you’ll need to succeed:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Master Electrician Certification or associate’s degree in electrical or electronics or Industrial Electricity Certificate or Equivalent required
• Candidate must have a minimum of 10 years of industrial experience in trade or Master Electrician License
• Experience with low voltage & voltage controls up to 480 volts

Understand PLC controls

• Knowledge of Electronic Instrumentation (E.G. Temperature Controllers, Chart Recorders, I/P and P/I Converters, Variable Frequency Drives, Etc.)
• Demonstration of competency with various electrical testing procedures to include Megging Motor, Testing Sensors, Wire 3 phase motor, PLC- knowledge of input and out, and building a circuit to print
• Experience with Allen Bradley Rockwell Software (RS Logix 5, RS Logix 500, and RS Linx), PLC-5 and SLC500 hardware
• Must have basic computer skills for work order entry and completion
• Must be able to obtain a forklift, articulating boom lift and scissor lift licenses from company licensing program
• Provide own tools (personal hand tools)
• Lead projects and define appropriate work scope for improvements/repairs
• Train/Mentor other electricians and apprentices
