North Columbus Dental Partners LLP in Columbus, OH seeks a skilled Expanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA) to join our growing team in a patient-focused environment where advanced skills matter.

The EFDA will perform expanded function duties under a licensed dentist, assist chairside during a variety of procedures, take radiographs, and educate patients on post-operative care. This role emphasizes compassionate patient care and collaboration with the dental team.

Qualifications

• Active Ohio EFDA certification required.
• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited dental assisting program preferred.
• Current Radiation Safety certification for dental radiography in Ohio.
• CPR/BLS certification required or ability to obtain upon hire.
• Minimum 1 year of dental assisting experience preferred.

Responsabilités

• Perform expanded function duties including placing and finishing restorations under the supervision of a licensed dentist.
• Assist dentists chairside during exams, extractions, and restorative treatments.
• Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) following safety protocols.
• Apply cavity-preventive agents such as fluoride and sealants.
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and operatories between patient appointments.
• Record patient medical histories and treatment notes in dental software.
• Educate patients on post-operative care and proper oral hygiene techniques.
