Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor's degree from an accredited program.
• Approved CPR/BLS to be completed within 90 days.
• Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) through CCI or RDCS through ARDMS within 1 year.
• Must be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• WI Caregiver Background Check and IL Health Care Workers Background Check required.
• Structural heart experience preferred.
• Ability to work in Adult Echo/Stress/TEE/Call Coverage, may include pediatric.

Responsibilities

• Perform echocardiograms per ASE standards with high quality patient care.
• Work in Adult Echo/Stress/TEE/Call Coverage, may include pediatric cases.
• Recognize arrhythmias and notify physician of abnormal findings.
• Assess and document ECG and echocardiography recordings; provide technical comments.
• Complete patient records accurately and ensure charges are correct.
• Educate patients and families about procedures and obtain consent as needed.
• Respond appropriately in emergencies and maintain equipment.
• Assist with orientation of new personnel and participate in SQI data collection.
• Attend department education and staff meetings; maintain CPR certification.
