Job summary

Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) Lead to help develop and monitor individual plans, maintain client files, and ensure safety and compliance. The role includes documentation, meetings, and trainings in alignment with regulations.

A wage increase to $18.50/hr after six months is available, with a $2,000 hiring bonus for eligible applicants. Shifts include 6a-2p/6a-4p on weekdays and 8-4 every other weekend.

Qualifications

• High school degree, GED or experience working with vulnerable populations required.
• Experience and/or training of at least one year with individuals with disabilities required.
• Medication administration training when required (may be obtained after hire).
• First Aid training if required and CPR Certificate (may be obtained after hire).
• Mental Health Certification or other related certification may be required (may be obtained after hire).
• Background Study (BGS) clearance is required.
• Driver's license required.
• MVR with a satisfactory driving record required.
• Ability to read, write and use computer required.
• Basic math and problem-solving skills required.
• Ability to recognize boundaries.
• Ability to suggest and implement strategies to enhance the service.
• Computer skills that support LSS technology.
• Patience, self-control, and flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development and monitoring of individual plans and monitor client files for completeness and accuracy.
• Monitor safety hazards and maintenance needs for the site and vehicles, addressing unsafe situations.
• Maintain documentation and participate in periodic meetings/trainings according to regulations.
• Provide Direct Support Professional leadership to team as applicable.
• Ensure medication administration records and progress notes are accurately updated.
