Job summary

DHT is seeking an experienced Advanced Diagnostic Technician for the Reese, Michigan main shop on first shift. You will diagnose complex issues across Class 8 trucks, lead diagnostic efforts, and guide other technicians while interpreting wiring diagrams and using OEM software.

Responsibilities include diagnosing engine/electrical/drivability concerns, emissions systems, ABS, and network issues, then recommending repairs and documenting outcomes. ASE certs preferred.

Qualifications

• Strong Class 8 truck diagnostic experience.
• Demonstrated leadership and ability to mentor technicians.
• Advanced electrical/electronic troubleshooting skills.
• Thorough understanding of diesel engines and aftertreatment systems.
• Experience with Detroit DiagnosticLink and Cummins INSITE.
• Familiarity with Bendix and WABCO diagnostic platforms.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics and technical service information.
• Ability to troubleshoot systematically rather than rely on fault codes.
• Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• ASE certifications preferred.

• Verify completed repairs and confirm equipment is ready to return to service.
• Provide technical guidance and diagnostic support to other technicians.
• Help develop troubleshooting skills and share diagnostic knowledge across the shop.
• Maintain accurate diagnostic and repair documentation.

ADVANCED DIAGNOSTIC TECHNICIAN | 1ST SHIFT | REESE, MI

DHT is looking for an experienced diagnostic technician with strong technical and leadership skills to join our main shop in Reese, Michigan on first shift.

This is not a routine maintenance position. We're looking for an experienced technician who can take on difficult problems across a Class 8 truck — engine, electrical, emissions, ABS, braking and other electronically controlled systems — work through them systematically to determine the root cause, and help provide technical direction when other technicians encounter complex issues.

When a truck has a problem that isn't obvious, this is the person we want helping lead the diagnosis and figuring out why.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

• Perform advanced diagnostics on Class 8 trucks and related systems
• Troubleshoot engine performance, electrical and drivability concerns
• Diagnose emissions and aftertreatment systems, including DPF, DEF and SCR
