Job summary

TAP Engineering LLC is seeking a Research Scientist – Advanced Computing in Catonsville, MD to advance research in quantum computing, neuromorphic computing, modeling and simulation, and high performance data analytics. You will lead experiments, analyze results, and help evolve prototype systems.

The role requires strong communication, ability to guide efforts, and the capacity to transition efforts for future development.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.
• Education and experience levels by level (1–3) as stated.
• Experience in Advanced Computing Systems (ACS) and related areas.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and professionally.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support and expertise in Advanced Computing Systems (ACS) including experiments.
• Assimilate inputs from performers and analyze technical deliverables and reports.
• Assist the government’s technical element in ACS portfolio management.
• Conduct technical writing and materials for presentations.
• Review related literature and participate in technical exchanges and workshops.
• Develop testing methodology and protocols aligned with program components.
• Coordinate tasks and monitor progress against cost and schedule.
• Perform technical and programmatic risk analysis and tracking.
