Job summary

Hirsh Precision in Colorado is seeking a Precision CNC Turning Specialist II to independently set up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC and Swiss lathes to produce tight-tolerance parts that meet exacting specs.

You'll mentor entry-level machinists, drive efficiency and quality, and pursue continuous improvement. Openings are available on First and Second shift, with a path toward lead or programmer roles based on demonstrated mastery.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of machining/CNC experience.
• Ability to independently set up and operate CNC equipment.
• Strong blueprint reading with GD&T fluency.
• Proficient in precision measurement and metrology.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and run CNC and Swiss lathes.
• Load, verify, and edit programs; verify first-piece quality.
• Select, install, and manage tooling, fixtures, and workholding for throughput.
• Run multiple machines/operations as demand requires.
• Track cycle times, machine performance, and job progress to hit schedule.
• Accurately log setup, downtime, and production data.
• Interpret GD&T and perform metrology to ensure first-pass yield.
• Identify and implement process improvements to reduce downtime.
