Job summary

Thunderbird Molding is seeking an experienced CNC Operator to set up and run multiple machines, read blueprints, and perform minor maintenance. You will troubleshoot equipment, ensure tight tolerances, and participate in continuous improvement efforts while training junior operators.

This on-site role requires standing for 8 hours, with a focus on quality, safety, and efficiency in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience operating CNC machines or equivalent knowledge.
• Intermediate ability to troubleshoot equipment.
• Mechanical aptitude required.
• Must be able to read, follow detailed instructions and understand English.
• Ability to read and work with blueprints.
• Ability to train, coordinate and communicate effectively with all departments.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC equipment for all product types; inspect tooling and perform programming changes.
• Read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings and work instructions.
• Perform in-process inspections with precision measuring tools.
• Monitor machine performance and make minor offsets or adjustments.
• Change tooling and inserts per job specifications.
• Maintain quality to meet tight tolerance requirements.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and safety programs.
• Troubleshoot equipment to identify problems.
• Inspect finished parts for gauge thickness and fit.
• Document production counts, scrap and quality checks.
• Other duties as assigned.
