Job summary
Methodist Hospital Specialty and Transplant in San Antonio, TX is seeking an Advanced Clinical Pharmacist to support patient care during night shifts 7 on 7 off. You will participate in daily multidisciplinary and bedside rounds, perform drug utilization reviews, and help lead clinical services to promote rational therapy.
You will mentor PharmD candidates, residents, and technicians, and participate in facility-wide committees and training programs.
Qualifications
- PharmD or BS Pharmacy required.
- 1 year hospital clinical experience or 2 years general hospital experience.
- PGY1 residency or fellowship preferred.
- BCPS or other BPS certification preferred.
- Current Texas pharmacist license or ability to obtain license.
Responsibilities
- Interpret orders and verify them in the pharmacy system.
- Accurately compound and dispense medications.
- Monitor drug therapy for interactions and dosing.
- Provide clinical consultation to practitioners and suggest alternatives.
- Support formulary decisions and participate in committees.
- Train PharmD candidates, residents, and technicians.
- Participate in clinical services such as pharmacokinetics and anticoagulant monitoring.
